| Any Organization in an Industrial operation today must be aware that the environmental impacts of its operation as seen by the community is a paramount factor in its ability to stay in business. |
| |
| Our manufacturing and trading activities now incorporate Animal Feed in addition to Pesticides, Paints, Latices, Adhesives and Fertilizers. Additionally in the second half of the year we acquired an interest in the manufacture of Herbal remedies and Nutraceuticals. Raw materials of some of these products and the finished goods themselves could affect Security, Safety, Health of stakeholders and the Environment. In order to mitigate these risks the Company's Security, Safety, Health and Environmental policy provides the guiding principals and the standards to be achieved at each of our sites where we transact business. |
| |
| |
| As a responsible Corporate, we are committed to protect the environment by using renewable resources wherever possible while investing in manufacturing processes and products that minimize adverse effects on the environment. Our systems and procedures are clearly enunciated and championed by the Divisional Director in charge of the SSHE functions. We make every endeavour to maintain a zero discharge level for effluent, any residual liquid discharged conform to National and International standards. Our manufacturing processes due to market size leaves a small footprint and consequently create a relatively small environmental ripple. However we keep close control on energy, water consumption and the minimization and prevention of waste. |
| |
Internal Security, Safety, Health and Environmental audits are an integral part of our Corporate SSHE Management system. All our sites are included in the audit programme. Audit reports are reviewed with the relevant head of each business unit at which meetings improvements and actions are discussed for implementation within stipulated time periods.
|
All our sites have been checked and licensed by the Central Environmental Authority and we are proud to report zero reportable incidents in a year where Group man hours of work exceeded 1.5 million.
In our endeavour for continuous SSHE improvement our employees are charged with the following; |
