Mr. Fernando joined the Board of CIC on 1st April 1980. He is a Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, and currently functions as the Non-Executive Chairman of Chemical Industries (Colombo) PLC, Chemanex PLC, Akzo Nobel Paints Lanka (Private) Limited, CIC Agri Businesses (Private) Limited, CIC Feeds (Private) Limited and Commercial Development Company PLC. The Deputy Chairman of Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC and Non-Executive Director of Ceylon Tea Brokers PLC, First Guardian Equities (Private) Limited, Rainwear (Private) Limited and companies within the CIC Group, Mr. Fernando also serves as the Co-Chairman of the National Council of Economic Development (Agriculture cluster), Member of the Presidential Taxation Commission, Sri Lanka Business Development Centre and is Trustee of the Employers' Federation of Ceylon.
Having joined the Board of CIC in May 2002, Mr. Ranatunga was appointed Chief Operating Officer in February 2005 and Managing Director/CEO in April 2009. He holds a Degree from the University of Delhi and a Masters in Business Administration - UK. He is Non-Executive Director of a number of unlisted companies in the CIC Group including Akzo Nobel Paints Lanka (Private) Limited, and of Perfunova International Limited, India and Seylan Bank PLC. A Committee Member of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, President of the Sri Lanka-Africa-Middle East Business Council and Vice-President of the Sri Lanka-Maldivian Business Council, Mr. Ranatunga has also led Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce delegations to various countries such as South Africa, Dubai, Maldives, Iran, Pakistan and Chile. He is also the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Nominee in the Mercantile Services Provident Society.
Mr. Amarasekera is an Attorney-at-Law by profession, specialising in commercial, banking and securities law. He was appointed to the Board of CIC in October 2005. He serves as an Independent Director on several Boards of public quoted companies including C.W. Mackie & Co. PLC, Keells Food Products PLC, Vallibel Power Erathna PLC and Amaya Leisure PLC.
Appointed to the Board of Directors of CIC in November 2002, Mr. Amerasinghe has a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Ceylon and Attorney-at-Law. Former Director General of the Employers' Federation of Ceylon and former Senior Employers' Specialist of ILO, he is also Non-Executive Director of many listed and unlisted companies including John Keells Holdings PLC. Currently, Mr. Amerasinghe is a Consultant on Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations to several National and International organisations.
Appointed to the Board of Directors on 30th June 2010. Mr. Rajan Asirwatham was the Senior Partner and Country Head of KPMG Ford, Rhodes, Thornton & Co. from 2001 to 2008. Further, he was the Chairman of the Steering Committee for the Sustainable Tourism Project funded by the World Bank for the Ministry of Tourism. As at present, Mr. Asirwatham, a Fellow Member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, is the Chairman of the Financial Services Stability Committee of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. He was also a Member of the Presidential Commission on Taxation, appointed by His Excellency the President, a Member of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Advisory Council and a Member of the Council of the University of Colombo. He also serves on the Boards of a number of companies amongst which are Ceylon Tea Services PLC, Brown & Company PLC, Lanka ORIX Leasing Company PLC, Aitken Spence PLC and Lanka ORIX Financial Company Limited.
Appointed to the Board in March 2008, Mr. Captain is an entrepreneur and investor in the Sri Lankan corporate sector, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and over 15 years of business experience in a range of manufacturing sectors. His current business interests range from paints, garments, and industrial gloves, to cutting and polishing diamonds, plastics and other packing material. He is the co-founder of Asia Stock Brokers, Asia Capital, Dutch Lanka Trailers, Asia Siyaka and Asian Alliance. Mr. Captain was educated at the University of Miami, Florida, USA.
Mr. Jayawardena was appointed as a Director in October 2008, after receiving the post of alternate Director to ICI Nominee Director in May 2002. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and Certified Professional Managers, he is also Managing Director of Chemanex PLC and Non-Executive Director of Keells Food Products PLC, Ram Rating (Lanka) Limited and a number of unlisted Companies in the CIC Group. Mr. Jayawardena has served 13 years with Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines Limited holding several senior positions including Head of Treasury. He is a Member of the Monetary Policy Consultative Committee of the Central Bank and the Senior Vice-Chairman of Ceylon National Chamber of Industries.
Appointed to the Board of Directors in June 2009, Prof. Buddhi Marambe is currently the Director of the Agriculture Education Unit (AEU) of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya. As the former Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and the former Head of the Department of Crop Science, Prof.
Marambe has been actively involved in and contributed significantly to the betterment of agriculture education, including research and developmental programmes at national and regional levels.
An Associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants - UK and holds a MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) University of Sri Jayewardenapura. She is also a Director of many unquoted subsidiaries of CIC Group.
