Appointed to the Board on 01st January 2023. Ms. Kshenuka Senewiratne is the first female Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) in New York and High Commissioner to the United Kingdom (UK) and also the Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ms. Senewiratne, a seasoned diplomat, who retired from the Public Service in 2020, counts a 35-year track record with the Sri Lanka foreign service, having held prestigious postings as Sri Lanka’s Head of Mission to the UN both in Geneva and New York, UK and Thailand. She has extensive expertise in the North American, European, and Asian regions in a multitude or strategies to enhance bilateral and multilateral relations. Especially through political and economic cooperations in the global context, and also ensuring the overall administrative effectiveness of the Sri Lanka Mission overseas and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where she served. She is currently working in an advisory capacity on international media.
